- EPC News
The size, location, and type of the building are just a few variables that affect how much an EPC will cost. A modern EPC can cost anything from £35 to £120. Since the 2007 implementation of the EPC laws, the price to get an EPC has not changed much. There are no assurances, but it is unlikely that the price of an EPC would increase much by 2025.
How much does an EPC cost?
The typical price of an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is between £35 and £120. (including VAT). The price is determined by a variety of elements, such as the type of home you own and the number of bedrooms. To ensure you’re receiving the best deal, compare estimates from licenced energy assessors as there are no set costs.
What is involved in the EPC cost?
An EPC’s price includes both the survey that a certified domestic energy assessor does and the actual Energy Performance Certificate.
The Certificate rates the property’s energy efficiency on a scale of A to G, with A denoting “Very Efficient” and G denoting “Not Very Efficient.” In England and Wales, a building’s energy efficiency rating falls within band D.
Additionally, the EPC will give the property a number between 1 and 100, with a higher number indicating a greater level of energy efficiency. A house with greater energy efficiency will have lower fuel costs.
